Stewart Produces Another Successful ‘Smoke Show’ Fundraiser
FORT WORTH, Texas – Less than 24 hours after posting a 10th-place finish at Pocono, two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart found himself in the cockpit again Tuesday but his objectives were not the pursuit of victory or maintaining his points lead. He had two other significant objectives in mind upon his arrival at Texas Motor Speedway and he was triumphant in both. KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – They were racing on asphalt instead of dirt. Their cars had roofs. All four of their wheels were covered by fenders. And for every left turn they made, they also had to turn right. Newman Looking to Seal the (Chase) Deal
WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. – Ask Ryan Newman or any member of the No. 39 U.S. Army/Haas Automation team and they will tell you that August in NASCAR is not any different than September in Major League Baseball or December in the National Football League. Those are the months that contending teams crunch the numbers and study different scenarios on how to make the post-season playoffs, which in the case of NASCAR is qualifying for the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship.
