HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Gearing up for the final race of the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series season, Ryan Newman took over the driver seat of the No. 33 Copart Chevrolet. Making his fifth start of the season for Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) , Newman started the Ford 300 from the second position and ran the majority of the race in the top 10 before crossing the finish line in the seventh position. Tony Stewart clinched the WIX Filters Lap Leader Award in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in tonight’s Ford 400. Stewart and Kyle Busch finished the season tied for the lead (7-7) in the overall standings but Stewart wins the award based on his finishing position in the overall series championship standings. Stewart led tonight’s race twice for 43 laps and finished the season with a total of 414 laps led and held the top spot for at least one lap in 19 of the 36 races.
