Bridgette Tatum on the hood of Newmans Car at the Knoxville Nationals
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country music hit maker Bridgette Tatum performs a free concert prior to the 6th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals Finals on Saturday, October 3, at the Knoxville Raceway beginning at 4 pm. In addition, Tatum will sing the National Anthem preceding the race and her image, along with the Aggressive Hydraulics logo, will be featured on driver Ryan Newman’s car.
The concert is open to the public, including non-race ticket holders. The anthem and race will be televised on the Speed Channel, October 17 beginning at 9:00 pm ET. Check your local listings for details.
“As a little girl in my grandparent’s house you’d hear two things on Sunday after church, the clankin’ of Nana’s pots while she was cooking, and my Papa’s NASCAR race competing with it all,” recalls Tatum. “He always had his pick and I would watch that one car go round and round. How could I know years later my image would be on a car on TV for my Papa to see? Ryan Newman has become a favorite of his and I know he will be in front of the TV pulling for him and in a small way, he’ll be pullin’ for me too. However, I don’t think my Nana will be clankin’ pots this time. I’m sure my Nana will be sitting on edge, glued to the TV to see the car, and to hear me do one of the most important songs in our history, the National Anthem. I am honored, and I am proud.”
Tatum will perform songs from her debut album, Sex, Church & Chicken, which will hit stores in early 2010. She is currently touring the country visiting with radio stations to promote her break-out single, “(I Like My) Cowboys Dirty.”
About Bridgette Tatum:
The firecracker brunette from South Carolina was raised on the tent revival brand of soul-shaking gospel, swirling with the Holy Spirit and saturated with raw passion. Music coursed through her veins, seeping deep into her bones, and manifesting as the powerful sultry wailing and soulful crooning that brand Bridgette’s sound uniquely as her own. Her new single, “I Like My Cowboys Dirty” has been winning both critical and fan approval. From Roughstock.com, “With this one song Bridgette Tatum, who co-wrote Jason Aldean’s ‘She’s Country,’ has set herself up as an artist truly worth paying attention to. Hell, with that husky vibrato-filled voice of hers, she may even become country music’s own Pat Benatar or Joan Jett or Nancy Wilson. ‘Cowboys Dirty’ should be but the first of quite a few hits for Bridgette.”
