Newman Adds Midget to Busy Weekends

Shawn Courchesne, writing in the Hartford Courant reports that Ryan Newman has added a couple NEMA midget races to his New Hampshire weekends.

Newman, who has already committed to driving select events on the Whelen Modified Tour this season, will add some action in a NEMA Midget to his schedule for this season.

Bertrand Motorsports announced Friday that Newman will compete for the team on June 26 at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H.

Newman, currently eighth in the Sprint Cup Series standings, is also tentatively scheduled to drive for the team at Lee USA on Sept. 18 and at Canaan Fair Speedway in Canaan, N.H. on Sept. 19.

In addition to his Sprint Cup Series duties with Stewart-Haas Racing at NHMS those weekends, Newman will also compete in the Whelen Modified Tour events at the track.
