Newman Avoids Trouble to Finish 7th

Bristol – Ryan Newman avoided the trouble that has plagued him this season and showed that he still knows how to get the job done.  After qualifying 2nd and running 2nd  in the final practice, Ryan ran a great race and finished 7th in the Food City 500.  The finish was the first top 10 finish of year for Newman.

Newman is now safely inside the top 35 in points so will be s guaranteed starter next week at Martinsville.

Tony Stewart, who started 15th struggled all day and wound up 17th, the first car one lap down.  The finish dropped him from 6th to 7th in the standing.

Kyle Busch dominated the race and picked up his second Cup victory of the season.
