Newman Flips, Stewart Hits Wall, Talladega Bites Stewart-Haas

Tony Stewart hit the wall and finished 35th. Ryan Newman who was behind Stewart was hit from behind and went airborne, first landing upside down on Kevin Harvicks hood, then flipping several times before coming to astop on his roof.  He finished 36h.  Stewart dropped 2 positions in the points, Newman dropped one.  Additional details to follow.

    this was a horrible horrible crash. i dont think i was breathing the whole time until they got Ryan out of his car. something needs to change. i hope nascar realizes that. thank God that Ryan and everyone who crashed today is ok

    There’s absolutely nothing more important than the fact that Ryan survived to race another day! After following racing for 50 years, you know that cars can be replaced, but driver’s lives cannot.

    That accident was really scary for me, but I am so glad that both Tony and Ryan were ok. That is all that matters to me. Go get them in Texas, boys. This fan will always be routing for you.

    I hope NASCAR listens to Ryan. Most Fans agree this type of racing is not what we want. Can sleep through the first 450 miles just like at Daytona. Maybe if Jimmy Johnson would speak up they would listen. What a long 15 or so minutes waiting to see Ryan get out of that car. Go get them the next three races Ryan, your Fans are behind you.

    ryan glad to see that you are ok the car can be replaced you cannot be lets go get them in texas and show them what army strong can be number 39 all the way im behind you one hundred percent your biggest fan
