Pretty Good Start for the New Guys

How do you take a 2 car team that finished 30th and 43rd in the points last year and turn them into a successful racing team? Simple really.
Hire 2 new drivers, put them in a different manufacturer, hire 2 new crew chiefs, bring in a few high profile sponsors and what do you have? A new team with a new attitude and success written all over them.
Last night, new owner/driver Tony Stewart drove his Stewart-Haas Racing chevrolet to a 3rd place finish in the Budweiser Shootout. Today, defending Daytona 500 champion Ryan Newman qualified his U.S. Army Chevrolet third, missing the pole by 0.057 seconds. Teammate Tony Stewart had to settle for qualifying 10th.
Next up are the Gatorade Duels on Thursday when the pair race for starting positions for the Daytona 500.
Here’s video of their qualifying runs, along with an interview of Ryan.

I wouldn’t have expected anything less from Ryan or Tony. They are both excellent drivers and will do well this year. I believe when Tony is at the track, he is a driver, not an owner and being able to seperate the two “jobs” will make him successful! Go get them boys!!! We’ll see you at the Checkered flag!
oooooh yes have not missed a beat tony and ryan looks pretty dam good they will be even better in the 500 it might be one of my boys in victory lane comes sun tony has finished 2 too many times its his time now to kick the door open this time
I knew Tony would be able to put together a winning team. He’s a Hoosier like me! Go Tony!!
Ya’ll did us proud, guys!!!!!!!!
