Stewart Going Dirt Tracking Again Next Week
FARGO, ND – Tony Stewart confirmed Tuesday that he will be racing the All Star Sprints Show at the Red River Valley Speedway (RRVS) in Fargo, ND next Thursday night. Donny Schatz, who drives for Stewart in the World of Outlaws Sprint cars will also be racing at the track that his father manages.
In an interview on WDAY 970-AM’s “Sports Talk” on Wednesday, Schatz recounted his phone conversation with Stewart. “He said, ‘I got some good news and some bad news.’ I said, ‘Well rattle the bad news off for me first,’” “He said, ‘Well, you’re going to have some competition at the All-Star show in Fargo.’ I said, ‘Well what’s the good news?’ He said, ‘I’m coming.’ ”
Stewart raced his Late Model at RRVS on June 23 and finished in third place in the feature. An estimated 8,500 fans packed the stands for the Tony Stewart Night event. With only one weeks notice, it may be hard to duplicate that crowd but Schatz believes they will come close.
Adding to the excitement at RRVS will be a USMTS Modifieds show on Wednesday with Kenny Schrader and Kenny Wallace being featured on that night.
