Stewart Wins the All-Star Race, Newman almost Wins

Tony Stewart became the only owner/driver to win the All-Star Race tonight as he took the lead from Matt Kenseth with two laps left and held on for the win.

Ryan Newman, had trouble early and spent most of the race in last place.  Once they got the car fixed, Newman drove through the field and with 5 laps left was involved in a wreck while attempting to pass Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch for the lead.

Congrats to Smoke! And a huge accolade to the Rocket! The Stewart/Haas boys will have something for everyone at the 600! Looking for a 1 2 finish!
    Go US Army #39!

Does anyone remember the reporter who predicted a dismal year for Stewart/Newman duo? I haven’t read a recent post from him.

  4. Frank Ivins says:

Congratulations Smoke, great job! I also expect that the Rocket will be in Victory Circle soon also. What a nice “Welcome Home” for Mr. Haas. The other Srewart I rooted for was called “the Wee Scot” and he didn’t do bad. I expect you’ll be even better.

  5. Janelle says:

Great try Ryan, just great watching you come from back to front. Let’s not have any screw ups this Sunday and come away with the WIN. Without Jeff trying to take out Kyle, you would have won, but does not hurt as much with Tony getting the win

  6. Gladys says:

I am so proud of the whole Stewart-Haas Organization. Just imagine if Ryan hadn’t wreck what might have happened. Maybe a 1-2 finish???? Would love to see them battle together for the win. It could happen during the 600.
