Tony Stewart scored his fourth straight win in the season-opening NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway by nosing his No. 4 Oreo/Ritz Chevrolet Impala just ahead of his Kevin Harvick Inc., (KHI) teammate Clint Bowyer in the DRIVE4COPD 300. The .007 of a second margin of victory was the third closest finish in Nationwide Series history and the closest in series history at Daytona since the introduction of electronic scoring in 1993. Stewart Picks Up Daytona Nationwide Series Victory Number Six
By Reid Spencer Sporting News NASCAR Wire Service DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.—With a shove from Landon Cassill, Tony Stewart surged past Clint Bowyer at the finish line to win Saturday’s Drive4COPD 300, his fourth straight Nationwide Series victory at Daytona International Speedway. Bowyer ran second .007 seconds behind Stewart. Cassill came home third, followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr., who had pushed Bowyer for six laps after a restart on Lap 115 of the 120-lap race. Danica Patrick finished 14th, one lap down, her best result in 14 Nationwide starts. Cassill also was involved in another pivotal moment of the race. Tony Stewart qualified 14th for Saturday’s DRIVE4COPD 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. The driver of the No. 4 Oreo/Ritz Chevrolet Impala for Kevin Harvick Inc.
