Newman and U.S. Army Racing To Create Picture Perfect Veterans Day

FORT KNOX, Ky. – The U.S. Army and Stewart-Haas Racing announced today a special paint scheme for Ryan Newman’s No. 39 U.S. Army Chevrolet which gives veterans the opportunity to put their faces on the Soldiers’ car running in the Kobalt Tools 500 Sprint Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway on Nov. 14.

Starting today, veterans, along with their families, friends and loved ones, can go online and submit photos of the men and women who have embraced the call of duty and helped build and protect our country at www.goarmy.com/yourphotohere.

All veterans are eligible for inclusion among the photos in the special paint scheme. Images of Soldiers will be collected through Sept. 24. Those selected will be featured on the hood, trunk, side panels and bumpers when Newman gets behind the wheel of the No. 39 U.S. Army Chevrolet in Phoenix.

Stewart Travels a Long Way to Finish 13th at Atlanta

A 13th-place finish has never been something Tony Stewart has crowed about, and his result in Sunday’s Kobalt Tools 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway was no different. Yet achieving this 13th-place finish was different, for Stewart had to come from the back of the 43-car field while managing his tires and dodging numerous late-race accidents. In fact, so much was packed into this race that it needed nearly 25 extra miles to complete, as it took two attempts at a green-white-checkered finish to finally end what turned out to be a 341-lap race. Engine Woes Hamper Newman in Atlanta

Ryan Newman ran solidly in the top-15 for most of Sunday’s Kobalt Tools 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Ga., but engine issues during the final 100 laps of the event slowed down his No. 39 Haas Automation Chevrolet Impala SS and thwarted his team’s march to a top-10 result. Another Eighth Place Finish for Stewart
