After winning the Sprint Cup race at Kansas Speedway on Sunday, Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman flew up to Knoxville, Iowa to get in a little dirt track racing action for the day.
The pair had provisionals for the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Nationals so the fact that they missed time trials wasn’t a problem.
Ryan and Tony went out for hot laps between the C and B Main and Tony turned a lap almost a full second faster than the nights top qualifier. Unfortunately for him, on the last he blew up the engine. The team worked frantically and got the new engine installed everything buttoned as the field was making warm up laps.
FarmerPhil22 posted several videos from the Knoxville Nationals including this one the hot laps. Unfortunately, it ends before Tony blew up.

What happend after the hot laps? Did they race? What were the results?
I,ve been searching all week with no results. How much suspence can this
old man take. I did,nt win the Camero either.
