Good points made all around.
New team start ups usually don’t fair well there very first year. But, this team will be better than most do to quality of drivers and equipment.
Wait and see, no one can say for sure?

Before we get too eager to close the door on Stewart’s chances for 2009, we might want to look at the similarities between Stewart and Kulwicki. To tell Tony he doesn’t have a chance to make the chase is like waving a red flag at a bull. Stewart will be back in a Chevrolet — he didn’t really embrace the idea of driving a Toyota, but was under contract to drive whatever car JGR decided to race. Did Stewart get the best JGR had to offer after he decided to leave? Will lack of testing hurt or help to even the score? Everyone knows that Tony can drive anything with wheels. The lack of testing may actually work in his favor.

Yes good points. But I have to agree with Kentucky. This is Tony Stewart
we are talking about. Yes he can drive anything and he is very strong willed. Yes he has money to invest and he will do his best to put that car in the winners circle. He is not about to go out and make a fool of himself or his team. Tony not only speaks his mind but does what he wants. I see Tony and his team off to a great 1st season.

I couldnt hear the video. So I just wish these two teams great luck for 2009, they have the talent so some luck cant hurt.

Azonian,
For some reason you may have to reload the page to get the video to work. Not sure why.

Resources at Stewart-Haas may not be as top calibre as JGR, but in a year, Tony will make it happen. Tony can drive a racecar blindfolded. Tony will be a great mentor to Ryan. Tony will end up 8th in points and Ryan will end up 14th. It’s just a new firesuit and a new building for Tony – oh and unfortnately it will also be a new voice in the headphones but Tony has his support and he definately will make the chase.

ryan an smoke are the next top team that nascar has been looking for and needs

Smoke and Rocketman will team up to be an awesome team to watch.
Don’t see Tony starting up something he thinks will fail. Go SHR.

Supposition and questimation; isn’t it amazing people can make a living on such fodder. Those of use who are still NASCAR fans will cheer on and support those with whom we identify and/or respect – go Stewart-Haas! NASCAR’s rules now make ’stock car’ racing as much a game of chance as it is motorsport. At the end of the 2009 season is the only fair time to take stock of who is where in the points.

I think before we write them off lets see at least a couple of races , as for jgr i don’t think he had good cars to drive last year they would come to the front at the begining of the race and they would not be able to keep up with the track and just ride around for the rest of the race and tony just didn’t like the toyota car

Stewart and newman will be the team in 2009 to beat
on Jan 8th, 2009 at 7:28 pm
They won’t be the team to beat in ‘09, but knowing Tony, he’ll make some waves with top finishes. The guy on the right in this vieo is a moron, by the way. How about all the top 5’s & 10’s Tony posted? I swear he was in 6th or 7th when the chase began. With Hendrick’s motors, a crew chief that was their top car engineer, in Grubb, & the desire to win that Stewart has, I foresee a competitive organization here. I’d like to see them get a third team, maybe Truex Jr. Heard rumors about that, don’t know what came of it though.
